A few years ago, I read a little management book entitled “Who Moved My Cheese”. It was a simple story about mice and cheese…that spoke about complacency and rejecting change. It also explained how the mice became afraid of things that were Different (from what they were used to) or things that were out of place/unusual.
But I have noticed through Coaching, that Change CAN happen when the Client is willing to take a small step forward…and at other times, it can simply begin with a verbal affirmation. Personally, I love “Change”. It is a Powerful and Active word that brings about a Positive Evolution of people and situations. It is also a platform for a fresh new beginning and if only we could, all see the need for it…what a world of difference it could bring!
Being Malaysian by birth, I can’t help but to mention that the days of a Monopolized-Single-Party Government is over! Over the past 50 years, a Party called Barisan Nasional (BN) has governed Malaysia. Today, I just heard News that the Opposition Parties of DAP, PKR and PAS have now won Many Parliamentary seats and State Constituencies. This is a New Era for Malaysian Politics…and it is hopeful that this Change can bring better benefits to the Malaysian Public at large.
No Change can happen without sacrifice as well. Though it may cost and be a little bit uncomfortable at the start…if we persist…Change is worth the effort!!! I have seen lives changed, transformed and renewed by the simple effort of “a little Change”.
