Yes…its Christmas again. It is the season I loved most since I was a kid growing up in Malaysia. Why? It is the holiday season…away from school, teachers, homework and just a time to play > play > play! It is a time where I got presents too…and not just because I was good ; )
Well Christmas these days have taken a different feel and meaning for me. It is a time for Family (eating and enjoying quality time together), Giving (especially to the less fortunate) and a time for Deep Reflection.
Yes…Reflection…because in a few days after Christmas would be New Year…which also means, it is another year gone by. I would always think and evaluate many things in this season, in terms of achievement of certain Milestones I set at the start of the year, having a time to ponder over areas in which I would want to make Amends / Change (for the better) and it is always a time for Celebrating Successes!
As a Coach…I would ask my Clients the following questions;
- How has the year been for you?
- How has your health, relationships, work-life balance been?
- Are you happy with your progress towards being the person you want/ought to be?
- Are your dreams getting closer and closer to becoming a reality?
- Are you taking steps forward towards achieving your goals?
- What are some things you want to Start, Stop and Continue for the New Year?
- Are you willing to acknowledge / affirm someone who has impacted you this year? How?
- and many many more…
Christmas is also the time where I wonder why 2000 years ago…the Creator of the Universe would send His Only Son to earth. And when I reflect on this message of truth…I am struck with awe and wonder of the LOVE that He had and still have for us all. Hence, the true meaning of Christmas eventuates into something more beautiful. It was His example that enthuses (drives) me to Share, Give and Celebrate Life in the most meaningful and impactful way to everyone! What is your driver towards life?
